The Three Pillars of Mended Living
When I started my mental health healing journey, I thought it would be all about “fixing my brain”. Therapy, breathing exercises, coping skills, etc.
Of course, these things help but I started to notice something: mental health doesn’t live in my brain. Or at least it’s not dictated by my brain. It’s connected to my environment, relationships, daily habits and faith.
The more I explored, the more these pillars formed, shaping the health of my mind, body and soul. And when I paid attention to all three and honored each one, my healing deepened in ways I could never imagine.
Mind
The brain is a fascinating machine that also tends to be a creature of habit. When anxiety, distraction or negativity become familiar habits, our brains play them on a continuous loop. I called this loop, “The Buzz”, because I may not have been actively tuning into the continuous loop, it was always on in the background humming like an old refrigerator.
This is where brain training changed everything for me. By giving my mind real-time feedback (Mended Minds), I was able to shift the tracks in my brain. I could once again think with clarity and focus.
This pillar is all about exploring brain training, mental health best practices, digital detox, and retraining how you approach a mental barrier.
Heart
Mental health isn’t just retaining peace in our lives, it also fuels why we get out of bed in the mornings. I found my anchor in my faith. When things started to get a bit rocky, I clung onto my faith in Christ. This can look different for everyone. Over time, I’ve learned different ways to incorporate my faith into my everyday life, to manage stress but to also heal my soul.
This pillar is where we will explore the different “whys” in life and how we can incorporate heart into all areas of our lives.
Home
Our homes provide more than just a place to live but a structure for our daily life. How we operate our homes directly impacts our mental and emotional well-being.
From what you put in your grocery cart to what you read to your children, we’ll dive into the practical side of building a home that nourishes, supports and heals you and your family.
The Future of Mended Living
Mended Living isn’t about perfection. It’s about learning that we are in complete control of our health and the various ways to organically heal our mind, body and soul.
It’s about learning to care for our minds, hearts and homes so we can live the lives we were made for and connect back to our nature.
I’ve been where you are. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by the noise in the world and unsure of your next step. Maybe you’re tired of overconsumption and “trending content”, waking up and feeling already behind in the times. Maybe you want to watch your children thrive in a world closer to our history than our future. I’m here to tell you I’ve seen the beauty of what happens when we nurture these three pillars with intention and grace and the transformations we can ignite and implement in our lives.
Let’s walk this journey together, learning and adapting to every hurdle that is thrown at us. One step, one switch, one mended piece at a time.
